Pastel Pretty...

I have been so incredibly obsessed with pastel hair color, for the past few months! It just looks so whimsical and lovely, I can't get enough.

I was seriously considering color all or part of my hair a pastel turquoise, I still might. We'll give it some time!

22 Before 23

Well, today's my birthday! Yaaaay me! I'm 22 years old, and well it's just a day, I mean, I'm working all day  but hey, it's all good. I fully plan on having a good night out with the boy and my friends :) Is it just me or does anyone who is 21 years old, reaaaallly not want to turn 22? It's probably just me, but 22 just makes me feel sooo adulty. Not that there's anything awful about that, considering I've been the most adulty person I've known since I was pretty young hah. It's just weird I guess, I can't really put a word or an explanation to it. But that's not really important now, is it? The point of this post is to document the things I'd like to accomplish before my 23rd (did you cringe too?) eeesh that's just so weird saying that I'll be TWENTY THREE, ever! I guess you don't really think about allllll those other ages when you're just waiting for the big 2-1.

I've composed a fine list of things that I really am driven to cross off as the next year passes . Goals, if you will.
My 22 things to do before I turn 23:

1. Finally take boards and get my license!
2. Really practice and get back to the fluent level of French
3. Save up for, find, and live in the perfect hardwood floored- exposed brick loft in Downtown Denver
4. Lose 40 pounds!
5. Take one lovely international vacation
6. Crochet or knit as many scarves/hats/ mittens as I can to donate
7. Take up Yoga
8. Wear every pair of shoes that I own at least once
9. Dance more
10. Read 22 new books
11. Fro-yo date once a week with people I adore
12. Create a lovely home+work studio space
13. Be and inspiration to anyone
14.Visit the Denver Art Mueseum atleast 5 times
15. Do a fruits&veggies challenge...3 times
16. Create a beauty/fashion printed 'zine
17. Have a disposable camera for every month of the year and develop all 12 on 3/14/2013
18. Travel to New York
19. Purge my closet in a SERIOUS way
20. Donate Blood
21. Be more creative in everyway possible
22. Save$Save$Save

This list for me, is absolutely attainable and they're all goals that lead up to even BIGGER ones that I have for myself and my life. And while I'm pretty positive that alot of these things, some people do in 1 week,  they're big for me.
And that's all that matters right?

Fancy Flats

When I was younger, from the ages of 14-20, i really swore to never wear anything but flats. No tennis shoes, no heels. There was actually about a 2 year span of time where i didnt have to tie or buckle a pair of shoes. I know. INTENSE.  I was a flats girl through and through.
Now, you really couldn't convince me not to wear heels at least 4 times a week. I love em. I really do

A great majority of the time, however, I'm on my feet for hours doing hair and makeup soooo heels and flat feet...not the greatest friends. It eventually turns into something very evil if I attempt to do anything in heels for long than 4-5 hours.

Flats are easy, so flippin cute, and lets face it, more comfortable than any other suitable-to-wear-in-public-shoes.

Feast your eyes on the flats that I really just adore today.

Loving Lately...

Wedding season is on it's way my friends. And this year is already a busy one! That must be why I've been so in love with bridal fascinators lately. I just can't get over how incredibly lovely they look!

DIY Felt Hair Bow Clips

This is probably the most ridiculously easy DIY you will ever see/do. I make these a lot for all my friends' little girls, because, well, because I can. They're so cheap and cute and on those days when you're just like, "GAH I need to do something crafty right this second!" It takes about 1 minute and BAM, cuteness for the masses!

Also, being at the ripe ol' age of 6 days away from 22, I just dont think me walking around with child-sized bows in my hair is something I should do on the regular. Sooooo I make them for the little people of the world instead.

There's approximately 1 million and 1 ways to get the exact finished product, but this is how I do it:

Gather all the supplies needed, I got everything here from Hobby Lobby for super cheap! Any craft store should carry similar items as well

To start, cut a long straight(use a ruler if you need to) strip of felt, about 1-2 inches thick. This is all preference, make them as wide or narrow as you'd like.
Fold the strip in half, matching the top to the bottom
Simply push down the top of the loop, until you get the bows the size you want them to be.

You can play around with how far you push down, for different sizes
once youve decided how big you want the bows to be, pinch the middle together.
Grab your hot glue gun, and put 1 dot right where you want the pinch to be.

This set is optional, but cut a tinier strip to cover the pinch in your bow, you can choose a different color for fun.

Wrap the strip of felt around the pinch and glue underneath

Next, grab your alligator clip, or the barrette of your choice
and put a line of glue on the TOP of it
Press it to the seam of your pinch cover(or whatever its called) on the bottom

Aaaaaand VOILA.
Make as many different sizes and color varieties as your little heart desires!

Lipstick Lovin'

MAC Cosmetics' new Viva Glam Spokespeople for 2012 are Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin. If you're unfamiliar with the Viva Glam Program; Every cent of the selling price of a MAC Viva Glam Lip Product (14.50$ US/17.50 CDN) is donated to the MAC Aids Fund, which goes to those directly affected by HIV/AIDS. It's really an incredible program!

There is a Lip Conditioner(Ricky Martin) and a GORGEOUS pink lipstick which is the one I picked up this time around. Viva Glam Nicki is a super unique lipstick, being that its a yellow-based pink instead of blue-based. It feels really nice on your lips, it doesnt dry them out and it has that staying power that all of us crazy-busy people need!

I highly recommend picking up Viva Glam Nicki Minaj next time you're at one of the MAC locations or just purchase it online and have it shipped straight to your door! It's for a GREAT cause and you'll look great too!
